DORGAN, Monica Lynn Dorgan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monica Lynn Dorgan, age 51, of Whitby, Ontario, who left us peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Monica’s nurturing spirit, unwavering support, and boundless love will forever remain in the hearts of her husband, Warren McKeown, and their four beloved children: Ryland, River, Bailey, and Gage. She was the foundation of her family — steady, compassionate, and endlessly giving.

Monica is predeceased by her grandmother, Elizabeth Leighton,   mother, Deborah Metcalfe; her father, Martin Dorgan; She is survived by many cherished family members, including her grandfather Doug Leighton, siblings Daniel Phillips (Kelly McKeown), James Dorgan (Candice Dorgan), and Kelly Leighton (Mike Bowell). She is also lovingly remembered by her lifelong friend and chosen sister, Primrose Lily (Michael Forester), along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Monica was a woman of remarkable strength who faced every challenge with courage, dignity, and unwavering resilience. Her kindness, humour, and ability to make others feel seen and valued left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. To be in her presence was to feel warmth, loyalty, and genuine love.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her family, friends, and colleagues. Monica’s legacy — as a devoted mother, loving wife, supportive sister, and faithful friend — will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to share her life. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in our hearts, and we will forever honour the impact she made on the world around her.

A memorial service will be held at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Whitby, on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
