Gordon (Gord) Ernest Drew passed peacefully on April 8, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, at the age of 96.
Gordon was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Susan Snelling (Gord), Paul Drew (Glenda), and Debbie Bull (Tom). Proud grandfather of Michele Oxlade (Victor), Lindsay Brown (Scott), Jason Bull, Michael Drew (Kelly), Amanda Bull (Matt), Brian Drew (Chelsey), William Snelling, and Connie Vautour (Randy), and great-grandfather to Jessie, Derian, Alec, Ashley, Mason, Jackson, Ellie, and Vanessa.
Born in Toronto to Ernest and Lealla Drew, Gord graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to work at General Electric in Peterborough, a role that took him around the world. Later in life, he spent ten years teaching at Durham College, where he shared his knowledge and passion for engineering with future generations.
Gord was a devoted church member and lived his life grounded in faith and service. He was also a skilled woodworker, handyman, and family photographer. After retiring, he and Helen enjoyed traveling and cherishing moments with loved ones.
A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division St., Bowmanville, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service.
