DRISCOLL, Marlene Anne Driscoll
November 4, 1949 - June 20, 2026
Peacefully at home with her family by her side on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of Brian for 51 years. Loving mother of Jennifer Yates and her husband Jeremy. Cherished grandmother of Joshua. Dear sister of Lynda Boyce and the late James “Jimmy” Harris.
Marlene Anne Driscoll lived a remarkable life marked by determination, hard work, and devotion to her family. From an early age, she demonstrated an adventurous spirit and strong work ethic. At just 18 years old, she earned her pilot’s license and quickly developed a passion for aerobatic flying. She went on to compete in aerobatic competitions throughout Canada and the United States, earning the respect and admiration of fellow pilots and aviation enthusiasts.
Together with her husband, Brian, Marlene worked tirelessly on their dairy farm from 1975 to 2002. Farming was more than a livelihood—it was a way of life that reflected her dedication, resilience, and love of animals. During those years, she also built a successful career as a real estate agent and served with the Milk Marketing Board, where her knowledge, professionalism, and commitment were highly valued.
Above all else, Marlene was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Jennifer, and one of the greatest joys of her life came when she was promoted to “Gramma” with the birth of her grandson, Joshua. She loved them beyond measure and treasured every moment spent with them.
Marlene was the kind of person others could always count on. She was endlessly generous with her time and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors, or anyone in need. She was never afraid of hard work and approached every task with determination and pride. Marlene believed that anything worth doing was worth doing well, and she never left a job half finished. Whether caring for her farm, supporting loved ones, or tending to her animals, she always gave her whole heart and her very best effort. Time and again, she put the needs of her family and her animals before her own, finding her greatest fulfillment in caring for those she loved.
Marlene found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She took great pride in her gardens and delighted in fresh flowers. Her love for animals was evident to everyone who knew her, especially in her affection for her cows and beloved dogs.
Marlene will be remembered for her strength, independence, adventurous spirit, unwavering work ethic, and boundless love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the lives she touched, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
There will be a Celebration of Marlene’s Life held at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 PM. Eulogies staring at 2:00 PM. In memory of Marlene and in lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Peterborough or the Peterborough Regional Health Centre would be appreciated by the family
