It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Effie (Euphemia) Duncan (née Johnstone), on June 5, 2026, at the age of 95. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on July 27, 1930, Effie lived a life filled with love, generosity, laughter, and determination. She was predeceased by her eldest son, Jeff Duncan, in 2023, and by her daughter Joanne’s partner, Jeff Murphy, in 2025.
She leaves behind her loving daughters, Janice (Keith Dey) and Joanne Duncan; her cherished grandchildren, Haley, Brittney, Kelsey, and Andrew; and her adored great-grandchildren, Oliver, Murphy, Kash, Cooper, and Londyn.
Known for her kindness, sharp sense of humor, and legendary sass, Effie brought joy to everyone around her and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
