EASBY, William Richard Easby

It is with deep sadness that family and friends say goodbye to our beloved William R. Easby, who passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 86.

William Richard Easby was a hardworking, dedicated, and compassionate man whose life was defined by integrity, curiosity, and service to others. He enjoyed an impressive career, working with some of the earliest large-scale computer data systems before transitioning into management with GM and EDS. Through his work, he witnessed and contributed to the remarkable evolution of modern computing while earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

He was a respectful Masonic brother who lived the values of integrity, charity, and fellowship throughout his life, following the example set by his grandfather before him.

Over the years, he found great joy in travelling, sports, golf, bowling, and camping, especially during summers spent at the trailer on Balsam Lake. He was often the first to start a long evening of cards or games, bringing laughter and friendly competition wherever he went. His happiest moments were always those shared with family and friends.

He was a loving brother, devoted father of five, proud Grandpa and Papa to eight grandchildren, Great-Papa to three great-grandchildren, a respected uncle, and a dear friend to many.

Today, we express our deepest admiration and gratitude for an extraordinary man. You left a lasting impression and brought laughter, kindness, love, and unwavering support to everyone fortunate enough to know you. Your sudden passing leaves an empty place in our hearts and lives, a space that will be filled with the countless memories and love you gave us. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
May you rest in peace, knowing the legacy you leave behind lives on in all who loved you.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. His family encourages those who knew him to honour his memory in their own wayβ€”by sharing a story, offering a helping hand, spending time with loved ones, or simply remembering him with a smile.
