EDGAR, Marina Beryl Edgar

Passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, in Toronto, with her two beloved sons, Mark and Grant, by her side. True to her nature, she faced her final moments with humour, wit, and determination.

Marina was born in Jamalpur, India, to Robert and Beryl Olive Collett, the second of five siblings. Though born into British heritage, her early years growing up in India remained close to her heart throughout her life. She was a loving and proud grandmother to four grandchildren: James, Julia, Mei, and Sen, who brought her great joy.

Her guiding mantra was empathy, and she lived it fully. Marina had a remarkable way of touching people’s lives, and she was deeply loved by many. Known for her quick wit, great humour, and generous spirit, she was also proudly stubborn, fiercely independent, and wonderfully free-spirited: qualities that made her truly one of a kind. Her genuine and kind spirit extended far beyond her family, and many came to see her as the mother they never had.

Marina embraced many chapters in life. Over the years she worked as a babysitter, secretary, and in real estate, and later became an enthusiastic world traveller, exploring many countries. She was endlessly curious and loved deep conversations about philosophy and spirituality, a good non-fiction book or a trip to the theatre.

She also had a signature style: nails and hair done, and colour-coordinated outfits with shining accessories. Marina believed life should be lived fully and ideally with a little flair.

Marina will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind countless stories, laughter, and memories that will continue to be shared for years to come.
