After a brief battle with cancer Ted passed peacefully surrounded by family at his home Friday August 14, 2026, at the age of seventy-three. Ted is now with the love of his life Nancy (nee Wilcox). He is the proud and loving father to Tanya (Shaun) and Amy (RJ). Grandfather to Grayson, Hadley, Kyla, Jade, and Aden. A Great Grandfather to Theo. Ted will be missed by his brothers: Ken (predeceased), Jean, Bill and Theresa (both predeceased), Victor “Jim” (predeceased), Dale and Christine of Newfoundland, and David. And his sisters, Carol Snider, Dan Snider, George Wise (predeceased), and Bev and Wes Brennan, as well as by his nieces and nephews. Ted will be fondly remembered by his best friends, Rick and Colleen Hawes; his neighbours, Katie and Dylan; and his beloved companion, Tex. Ted loved sports and played lacrosse in Orillia in his younger years. He coached his daughters’ baseball and hockey teams and enjoyed serving as a Scout leader with Scouts Canada. A special thank you to his dedicated nurses Jess, Julia, and Liam from the Bayshore nursing team. And to Doctor McNaull. In keeping with Ted’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the OSPCA Orillia or Scouts Canada through Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E., Orillia, at (705) 327-0221.
