
Edward “Ted” Alexander Stover passed away peacefully at Marshall Gowland Manor in Sarnia on September 8, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was 90.
Ted was the beloved husband of the late Sarah Stover, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. He is remembered by his children Sharon Stover and John (Kristine) Stover; his late son Bradley Stover; his brother Ron Stover, whose wife Claudette predeceased him; grandchildren Cassandra (Jeff) Streeter, Kendall (Steve) Lapp, Christina Matheson (Colin), Katie Stockdale (Dave), Sarah Stockdale (Scott) and Bradley Stover; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Helen Stover, brother-in-law Alec Crawford and sister-in-law Mary Elliott.
Ted and Sarah enjoyed square dancing, camping and travel. They took part in square-dance groups across Southwestern Ontario and belonged to the Square Dance Campers Association of Ontario. Scotland held a special place among their travel memories. His family also expressed gratitude to the staff of Marshall Gowland Manor for the compassionate care he received.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Monday, September 14, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment and a light luncheon.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton. The funeral home accepts cheques for this purpose.
