EGAN, Brian Joseph Egan

It is with profound sadness that the family of Brian Joseph Egan announces his peaceful passing on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Brampton Civic Hospital.

Brian was the beloved husband of Cecelia Egan for 50 years. Together they built a life filled with love, family, laughter, and unwavering devotion. He was a proud father to Patrick and cherished father-in-law to Nicole. Brian was also a devoted papa to his granddaughter, Brianna, who brought him immense joy. He was predeceased by his son, Rory Egan, and by his parents, Rory and Rita Egan, all of whom he carried in his heart always.

Brian will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters: Rory (Phyllis), Shelia (Richard), Eileen (Gabriel), Moira, Rita, Sean, Maureen, Kevin (Angela), Mary Anne, Rosaleen, Patrick (Jennifer), Desmond (Marilyn), extended family members, and friends.

Teaching was not simply Brian’s profession—it was his passion. He dedicated his life to educating and inspiring generations of students, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives through his kindness, patience, and commitment to learning.

Outside the classroom, Brian enjoyed all sports, was an avid reader, and had a deep appreciation for all things Irish. Proud of his family’s Irish heritage, he found great joy in celebrating the history, culture, and traditions of Ireland.

Brian’s warmth, wisdom, humour, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so dearly and in the many lives he touched throughout the years.
