Elvadora Pearl Olivianne Rice Kittler Jonat (née Holmberg) passed away on September 9, 2026.
Pearl was born on November 14, 1935, to Agnes and Oscar Holmberg and grew up as the second of nine children. Faith, family, music, education, and service shaped her life. She taught herself to play piano by ear and also played organ, French horn, trombone, and vibraharp.
Her working life began at age 12, and she later became a teacher. She and her first husband, Murray Rice, raised Carol, Karen, and Russ before moving to Kelowna. Pearl supported her family’s careers, ministry, and community activities, and she took great joy in her grandchildren.
After Murray’s death, Pearl married Hugo Kittler and later Clarence Jonat. She returned to Kelowna in 2011 and spent her later years at Mountainview Village, where her family expressed deep gratitude for the care she received.
A private service was held in Pearl’s honour.
