EYMAN, Douglas Eyman
August 27, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas (Doug) James Eyman, who left us peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by family in a circle of love. A cherished father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and friend, whose life was marked with kindness, love, generosity and courage.
Doug was the devoted father of Samanatha (Josh), Krista, and Brianne, and the proud grandfather of Benjamin, Aubree, Shayne and Matthew, who brought so much joy to his life. He is survived by his sister Lynn and brother Thomas, and will be fondly remembered by his nephews and niece Scott (Effie), Kelly (Ian) and Brett. He was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Audrey Eyman, his brother Dave Eyman and nephew Keith Eyman.
Doug dedicated over 43 years of his career as an electrician at General Motors, where he built lifelong friendships and was respected for his work ethic and loyalty. Outside of work, he found great joy at the cottage he proudly built in 1989, a place filled with laughter, memories and family gatherings.
He will also be remembered for his love of the Eyman family’s favourite card game, Blackout, which he often won, but always brought loved ones together around the table and did so a few days shy of his passing.
Doug faced life’s challenges head-on, never wavering. His resilience and strength were an inspiration to all, particularly during his battle with cancer. He faced the illness with the same fierce tenacity and grace that he applied to all aspects of his life, fighting until the very end.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr.Rothenstein and registered nurse Julie, as well as the entire team at the Lakeridge Health’s Cancer Centre for their care, compassion and kindness through Doug’s seven year battle. A special thank you to Dr. Burke, Dr. Kassirer and the staff and volunteers of Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry for providing a space to share fond memories and making Doug’s final days comfortable.
Doug will be remembered for his devotion to family, wisdom, selfless support, his quiet strength and the love he shared so freely. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
