FAIR, John Richard Fair

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Richard Fair. He passed at home after a lengthy battle with lung disease, in the loving arms of his devoted wife, Anne. He is survived by his wife and best friend Anne, of 46 years, his step-son Jeffrey Baker (Ann), step- daughter Jennifer Baker, daughters Robin Fair and Sarah Fair, brother Casey Fair. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Riley and Hudson Baker, sister’s-in-law Lynda Supryka, Grace O’Dowd, Wendy Fair, brother-in-law Jim Nawrot, niece Kristine Fair (John), dear friends Gary and Tammy O’Neil, Anna and Bob Kerr. He will be missed by his golfing buddies, his friends, and the Amigos, whom he and Anne travelled with, and spent many winters in Florida socializing and golfing.

John Richard Fair was born in Oshawa, January 28, 1946. He is predeceased by his parents Jack and Flora Fair, brother Michael; sisters Marylee, Marcia and infant Judy. Also predeceased by son-in-law Jason Popovich, brother’s-in-law, Eugene Supryka, and Dennis O’Dowd, niece Merridee Fair.

John retired as Captain from the Oshawa Fire Department with 32 years of service. He and Anne moved to Hay Bay, Napanee where John spent many hours in his boat fishing. He loved being out on the water and bringing home some Pickerel. He also joined the Napanee Golf and Country Club where he enjoyed golfing the last 27 years. Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at the Lennox and Addington General Hospital for the wonderful care they provided. Also thank you to Dr. Koester for her home visits and compassion. Thank you to the nurses who provided care at home.

Aquamation has taken place. At John’s request there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lennox and Addington General Hospital Foundation or Napanee Salvation Army.
