Celebrating Faye (Addison) Leaver – The Queen of Hearts
Faye Leaver, the deeply loved matriarch of the Leaver Clan, has peacefully taken her final bow and moved on to her next great adventure. She has gone to be reunited with the love of her life and beloved husband, Peter. She is also once again in the arms of her parents, Herb and Phyllis; her sister, Patricia; her in-laws, Betty and Ted; and her son-in-law, Todd.
Faye spent her life teaching us that family is the most important thing in the world. Her true masterpiece was her family, starting with her four "favourite" daughters: Sasha, Teresa (Chris), Lisa (Troy), and Carolyn (Larry)—not to mention the many "adopted" daughters she lovingly collected along the way. Her legacy continues through her nine amazing grandchildren: Victoria (Mahyar), Natasha (Matt), Brendan (Danielle), Matthew (Jo), Austin (Laura), Natalie, Nolan (Juliana), Daniel (Ali), and Nicole, as well as her cherished great-grandson, Wells. Gramma’s smile was a beacon of pure kindness, and her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds. Faye will be missed by brother-in-law John (Kelly).
Faye was also a mother figure to the entire Manley’s Basics Team, regularly baking her famous banana bread and bringing it in for everyone to enjoy. Her home was a refuge, a sanctuary, and a revolving door of warmth. To her daughters' friends, she wasn't just Faye—she was the gold standard and the ultimate role model for what a mother should be. Faye was also our favourite cheerleader, never missing a single sporting event for her children or grandchildren.
Faye’s heart & her beautiful smile were her greatest assets, closely followed by her legendary sweet tooth and her uncanny ability to hit the jackpot. A woman of great passion, she loved nothing more than a thrilling road trip, a lively night at the casino, or a competitive round of bingo with her dearest friend, Marilyn. Faye leaves behind her best lifelong friend, Angela. Mom is now reunited with her friends Jan and Norine, who have undoubtedly already scouted out the best seats in the celestial bingo hall. We all hit the jackpot by having Faye in our lives.
Our family wishes to extend our deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to everyone who reached out during Mom's cancer journey. Whether you brought food or flowers to the house, sent cards, or shared your love, your prayers and your kindness, this provided immense comfort and was a beautiful reflection of the love she spent her life giving to others. We also send our sincere thanks to Dr. Lilly and his team at St. Joseph’s Hospice for being so remarkably good to our mom and our entire family.
We invite you to join us to celebrate Faye’s life on Wednesday, September 2nd, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
