FERREIRA, Joao Manuel Ferreira

Loving husband and soulmate of 62 years to Helena, he will be deeply missed by her, as well as by his children, Manny and Lena (Tony). A proud grandfather, his memory will be forever cherished by Monica (Tyler) and Alex. We will miss his kind heart, generous spirit, and gentle soul.

Born and raised in São Miguel, Acores, Joao immigrated to Canada in 1966, where he worked tirelessly to build a life and family alongside his devoted wife. He found great joy in providing for those he loved, and deep fulfillment in his involvement with Our Lady of Fatima Church, the Micaelense Organization, and the Oriental Sports Club, all of which he helped to establish. He was also a passionate supporter of his beloved Benfica soccer team.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the ICU team at Cambridge Memorial Hospital for their tremendous care and compassion during this difficult time. Their dedication and respect will always be remembered.

Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. The funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cambridge. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
