FERREN, Molly Ferren
October 13, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Molly Ferren, who left us peacefully in her 91st year.
Molly was the beloved wife and best friend of Joe Ferren for 63 wonderful years. Together they built a life filled with love, joy, and family — a bond that will remain unbroken.
Born in Madoc, Ontario, to Allan and Elsie Franks (née Smail), Molly grew up on the family farm, where she learned the values of hard work, kindness, and caring for others — qualities that stayed with her throughout her life. She was a loving sister to Marg Smith (late Bob), David Franks (Wanda), and the late Glenn (Donna).
Molly was a proud and devoted mother to Pat, John (Lisa), and Lori (Greg), and a cherished grandmother to Travis (Natasha), Robert, Josh, Matthew, Connor, and Jordan. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
She was also a much-loved sister-in-law to Bernard “Turk” (Elaine), Faye (late Jim), and to the late Audrey (Hubert), Clarke (Paulette), Anne (Albert), Mary (Jack), Peter (Rena), Jack (Helen), and Ken. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Molly had a beautiful spirit and a warm, gentle nature. She loved to share a smile and brought joy to those around her. Her home was always filled with love — and often the delicious aroma of her famous homemade pies, which she baked with care and shared generously. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at De Stefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa, on Sunday, October 19th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm and again on Monday, October 20th from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20th, with interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Whitby.
