FORDER, Harold Forder

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Harold Rutledge Forder on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in his 99th year. With his family by his side, he passed away surrounded by the love he so freely gave throughout his long and fulfilling life.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Norma Forder. Together, they built a beautiful life and family, including their cherished daughters: Gale (Ralph Ballard), Anna, and Rhonda (Paul Atkinson). He will be lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Born in Blackstock, Ontario, Harold spent his entire life in Scugog Township, where his deep connection to the land and farming shaped the person he became. A devoted family man and farmer at heart, Harold dedicated his life to both his work and his loved ones. His quiet strength, wisdom, and gentle guidance served as a cornerstone for his entire family, who looked up to him with the deepest respect and admiration.

Harold’s tireless spirit led him to become a well-known Port Perry businessman. He owned and operated a butcher shop before establishing PineRidge Packers in Blackstock, where his commitment to quality and craftsmanship earned him great respect in the community.

His passion for farming extended beyond his business. Harold took great pride in raising Grand Champion registered Herefords—a testament to his dedication and skill. Over the years, his farm was also home to budgies, pigeons, and miniature horses, each reflecting his love for animals and country life.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors, and staff at both Port Perry and Bowmanville Hospitals, who took care of Dad with such kindness and compassion.

A celebration of Harold’s remarkable life will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Low & Low Funeral Home, 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry, Ontario L9L 1A6.  Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Harold’s Life at 1:00 p.m.
