FORDER, Julie Susan Croney Forder
January 2, 1951 - June 12, 2025
In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts, we share the bittersweet news of the passing of Julie Croney, a remarkable mother and wife whose kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Julie was predeceased by her cherished husband, Ken. However, her spirit lives on in her beloved daughter, Shannen (Ben Reasbeck).
Julie was not just a sister-in-law to Elizabeth Croney and Sandy Croney; she was also a true sister, friend, and daughter to Ken and Ina. Julie spent most of her career working with the Toronto District School Board. Her dedication to nurturing young minds inspired countless children to recognize and embrace their unique strengths. She devoted over forty years to her students, providing guidance and support to her colleagues long after her retirement.
For fifty years, Julie and Ken celebrated a love filled with laughter and adventure, particularly at their beloved cottage in Honey Harbour. There, memories were made, and friendships blossomed. Julie’s warmth and hospitality were legendary; Ken’s spontaneous cocktail parties often turned into grand celebrations with over thirty friends in joyous camaraderie. Many will fondly remember her as a calming presence, usually cozy in her housecoat, sipping coffee while enjoying the tranquility of the sun deck. Ken affectionately joked that she had “two speeds: neutral and reverse.”
Nothing brought Julie more joy than her daughter, Shannen, whom she lovingly referred to as “the best thing she ever did.” Shannen remembers her mother as her biggest cheerleader, always encouraging her to pursue sports and hobbies while supporting her in every endeavor.
During Julie’s illness, Shannen, her fiancé Ben, and his devoted parents, Keith and Di, rallied around her with unwavering love and support.
Shannen especially wishes to express her heartfelt gratitude to the incredible friends (you know who you are!) and the compassionate healthcare providers at Campbell House Hospice, Royal Victoria Hospital, North Ridge Family Medicine, Bouchard Family Practice, SE Health, and Bayshore Health. Their profound care enabled Julie to savor her heartfelt wish for “more time,” all while maintaining a quality of life filled with love.
In lieu of flowers, Julie wished for donations to be made to Campbell House Hospice or the Royal Victoria Hospital Cancer Centre. These contributions will honor her caring spirit and the love she freely shared with everyone around her.
We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Julie Susan Croney Forder and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
