Wendy Susan (née Conners) FULLER
November 8, 1951 - August 22, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Wendy Susan Fuller of Bowmanville on August 22, 2025, at the age of 73.
Wendy was born in Kingston, Ontario, to Catherine (née Miller) and James (Big Jim) Conners and spent her early years in Napanee, where some of her most cherished memories were of time spent with her beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her family later moved to Oshawa before settling in Highland Creek/West Hill, where she remained rooted, raising her own children nearby and eventually returning to Bowmanville in her later years. Balsam Lake held a special place in her heart for the many years spent at the cottage with loved ones.
The eldest daughter of eight children, Wendy’s strong and determined spirit was shaped by her role as “the wisest” sibling (in her mind). Though her early years were not easy, she always credited the kindness of the Walton family for helping her along the way. Her drive and resilience led to a successful career – first in advertising with the Scarborough Mirror, then over 35 years in real estate – where she built lasting friendships with colleagues and clients alike.
Her absolute proudest accomplishment in life was raising her daughters, Stacey and Stephanie. Much to their embarrassment, Wendy never missed a chance to brag about her children and grandchildren, and she devoted countless hours to researching and advocating for her grandchildren’s unique disabilities and passions.
Wendy was a true hippie at heart; she was kooky, “fierce,” wise, and beautiful. She loved a fun girls’ weekend, dancing, traveling, live music, Indigenous wisdom, and time spent with loved ones. Her close friends and family will have fond memories of deep chats on the backyard swing, late-night check-in texts, and unexpected surprise gifts or cards in the mail. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, a listening ear, and support. She will be fondly remembered as a true supporter of many bands in the east-end and Durham Region music scene.
Wendy is survived by her daughters, Stacey Fuller-Haley and Stephanie (Amanor) Djoleto, and her beloved grandchildren Jade, Will, Owen, Ofeibea, and Maeve. She was predeceased by her parents and will be lovingly remembered by her siblings and in-laws: Jack (Sharon) Conners, Tom (Nancy) Conners, Shelley (late Paul) Devine, Geoffrey Massey (late sister Vickie), George MacDonough (late sister Cathy), Susan Young (late brother Larry), and the late Jody Ross. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
We are comforted knowing Wendy was a faithful believer in the angels and all things astrology. She knew she’d be reunited with her friends, parents, sisters, and her little buddy Peanut again one day. She would be thrilled to know that we’ll watch and listen for her in the signs from the birds and the feathers. She found peace in these words and would hope you find the same: “I’m sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I love you” – Ho’oponopono Prayer.
In keeping with Wendy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church, 178 Church St., Bowmanville, Ontario, with more details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the DDX3X Foundation or St. Paul’s United Church .
