It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marius Jean-Marc Gagnon, who passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born on January 1,1932, in Matane, Quebec, Marius was the beloved son of the late Philippe Gagnon and Eva Bernier. A skilled carpenter and cabinetmaker, he earned his diploma at the age of 16 before moving to Ontario 1950, where he built a successful

41-year career through hard work and dedication.

Marius shared a beautiful love story with his wife, Ghislaine Marie Beaulieu. After first meeting in 1951 following months of handwritten letters, they were married July 11,1953, and built a loving life together for 73 years.

He was the devoted father of the late Suzanne Chevrier (Denis), Odette Lorusso (Pat), Paul Gagnon ( Guylaine Savard), Francine St. Aubin (Louis), Jeannette Anderson (Paul), and Marc Gagnon (Karen).

Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Cathy, Joey, Jade, Cedric, Julien, Stephan, Rebecca, Shaun, Jesse, Colton, and Angelyn.

Proud great-grandfather of Madison, Eric, Bailey, Ashley, Leon, Whelan, Adeline, Parker, Jaxson, Aleah, and Emersyn.

Marius Jean-Marc Gagnon was predeceased by his siblings Patrick, Lucille Fillion, Gilles, Reginal, and Jocelyne Otis. He leaves behind his brothers Maurice and Jocelyn, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Marius was a man of remarkable talent and quiet strength. he was widely respected as an exceptional carpenter and cabinet maker, creating beautiful work with unmatched skill and precision.

Outside the workshop, he found joy on the slopes, where he spent many winters downhill skiing. At home, his gardens became another masterpiece, especially his prized tomatoes and raspberries, which he lovingly tended year to year. He also enjoyed writing poetry, putting into words the thoughts and feeling that reflected his appreciation for life.

Although he arrived in Ontario speaking only French, Marius embraced every opportunity to learn. through determination and perseverance, he became fluent in both English and Spanish, a testament to his lifelong curiosity and dedication.

Together, Marius and Ghislaine shared a passion for travel, creating treasured memories on many trips to Mexico and Cuba, as well as numerous cruises, Their adventures reflected the joy they found in experiencing the world together.

To his family, Marius was a man who showed love through actions rather than words. He could be stern, but beneath that was a heart devoted to those he loved.

Every grandchildren knew his famous knee squeeze — a firm grab that became his unmistakable way of saying, “I love you.” It is a simple gesture that will forever bring smiles and cherished memories.

His legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication will live on through the family he loved so dearly and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
