Born in 1938 to a loving family in a small town in Prusy, Slovakia. At the early age of 7, George, his sister Eva and parents, fled their home during World War 2 and immigrated to Canada. They initially settled in Glencoe Ontario. Eventually George made his way to Toronto, where he met his loving wife Helen who he was happily married to for 57 years. Together they raised three sons George, Mike and Peter in Thornhill, Ontario. As a family they enjoyed skiing, camping, Boy Scouts, spending time at the cottage and outdoors with their friends.
Those who knew George enjoyed his great sense of humor, big personality and relentless positive outlook on life. He was supportive and generous with his loved ones. His priority was always his family and friends.
George Andrew Brcko leaves behind his wife Helen, sons George, Mike, Peter, their wives Kari, Cindy and Jessica, and grandchildren Julia, Katrina, Natasha and Ryan. We will miss him dearly and he will be ever present in our hearts and minds.
Please join the family for George’s Celebration of Life on Sunday September 27th at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home at 8088 Yonge Street in Thornhill from 1:30 – 4:30 with words spoken at 2:30pm.
