Age 66, of Bowmanville, Ontario, passed away Monday, October 19th, at Oshawa Lakeridge Hospital, the same hospital he was birthed in, after a courageous, but aggressive battle with cancer. His loving daughter Jessica was by his side until his final breath. He was surrounded by all his closest family in his final days.
Son of Jan and Zosia, little brother of Krysia, George was an honest and hard working family man, who always believed in leaving something in better condition than it was found. He was intrigued by weird science and the unknown. He was a man of the earth who loved gardening, just as his father did. George was a truck driver for 48 years, just like his father too. Shifting gears on the road in the middle of the night with his favourite tunes playing was special to him. He was proud working for Algoma Orchard and made sure those close to him always had apples. George was an incredible father to Jessica, and an even better grandfather to her son, AJ. They were best friends who spent every weekend listening to music, playing guitar, and building model cars together. There is nothing he looked forward to more than his time with AJ. He was like a father to him.
George Jablonski will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
May his light forever shine bright from here to the greater unknown.
George did not want a funeral, as he said funerals are such a drag. He wanted a party so everyone could have a good time with him. A Celebration of Life for George will be held in the new year with more details to be announced.
