GIBBS, Barbara Gibbs

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Gibbs on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Sault Area Hospital surrounded by the love of her family.

We take comfort in knowing that Barbara is now reunited with her loving husband Lloyd Gibbs and her brother Bud Murrell.

She will be remembered by her children, Lorrie Dewar (late Jimmy), Michael Harkness (Susan), Shelley Gibbs (Danny), Stan Gibbs (Cindy), Laura Dews, and the late Paul Gibbs. Barbara will be missed by her loving grandchildren late Jamie, Shari (Joe), Kari (Cory), Kelli (Shawn), Shaila, Daniel, Shane (Angelina), Danny, Tommy (Tierney), Tammy, and Justin (Katie). As well as her great-grandchildren Maija, Meeka, Nick, Kyra, Olivia, Zuri, Emma, Maggie, Alex, Callianne, Ryan, Danielle, Hendrickson, Joseph, Sammy, and Jake. Great-great-grandmother to Brantley and Karter.

In her younger years Barbara loved to be working in her flower garden and was always so proud of her many flower beds. She loved to go on shopping trips, as well as travelling to see her family, which meant so much to her.

We the family would like to express our thanks to mom’s home care nurses, Jody, Sierra, Lyvia, Ross, Spencer, and PSW Lisa. As well as the Sault Area Hospital emergency department and 3C doctors and nurses.

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at Shelley and Dan’s home Saturday, August 29 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations to Goulais River Fire and Rescue or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
