It is with heavy hearts, the family of Ross announce his passing on September 16, 2025 at Oak Ridges Hospice, at the tender age of 94.

Beloved husband of the late Joanne for 67 years. Loving father of Linda Fruin (Paul) and Susan Battams (Norman Sr.). Devoted grandfather of Tyler (Leah), Natasha (Yousef), Madison (Kenny), Dacota, Norman Jr., and Jacob and great-grandfather of Maison, Jayce, Amira, and Levon. Predeceased by his parents Louella and Stanley Gibbs and his sisters Sybil and Betty. Ross will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Special thanks to Sherrie, Rossana, Michelle and the many other PSW’s that have been a part of Dad’s care team, for their wonderful love and care over the years and heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Oak Ridges Hospice.

Ross retired from General Motors after 46 years of dedicated service. When he wasn’t working or spending time with his family, he could be found golfing at the Oshawa Golf and Curling Club, where he was a member for 75 years.

Visitation in memory of Ross and Joanne, will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 11 a.m – 12 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home. A Funeral Service to honour both their lives will follow at 12 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry, in his memory. Online condolences may be shared through www.armstrongfh.ca
