GIBSON, Donald William Gibson

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the Kemptville District Hospital on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in his 67th year. Beloved husband of Teresa for 40 years, Donald was a devoted partner and a proud father to Meagen (Nicolas) of Spencerville and Kristina (Joshua) of Brockville. He was a deeply cherished Grandpa to Harrison, Evan, Hayden, and Paisley – his greatest joy and the one place his famously tough exterior softened without hesitation.

A skilled electrician by trade, Donald William Gibson was known for his strong will, determination, and unwavering grit. He faced life head-on, never backing down from a challenge and always seeing things through. That same determination carried into everything he loved – whether he was out fishing, volunteering with the ATV club, working in his many gardens or enjoying a trail ride. He had a passion for the outdoors, a love of gardening and animals, and took great pride in passing along his knowledge of fishing, gardening, and hands-on skills to his grandchildren. While he was known for being stubborn and strong, those closest to him knew his softer side well, especially his grandchildren, who brought out his gentlest spirit. To them, he was the Grandpa with a pocket full of Sweet Tarts, a quick wit, love of 70’s rock and roll and their biggest fan.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the palliative care team for their compassionate care, with special gratitude to Jaime and Dr. Zakhem for their exceptional support.
