It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Marie Goodman. Lorraine passed away at the age of 99 years old, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Goodman for 75 wonderful years.

Loving mother of Wayne (Sal), Bob (Alana), and Peter (Wilma). Proud grandmother of Dennis, Natalie (Evan), Paul, Jamie (Peter), Miranda (Tom), Megan, and Brent (Victoria). Cherished great-grandmother of Blake, Kylee, Lilah, Corbin, Bree, Ben, Jonathan, Harper, and Mackenzie, and great-great-grandmother of Tatum and Noah.

Lorraine was the daughter of the late Douglas and Gertrude McLaughlin and was predeceased by her siblings Vern, Ted, Dean, Glenn, and Phill, as well as her sisters Madge Matheson and Mavis Quail.

Born into a large and loving family in Oshawa, Lorraine was known for her thoughtfulness, kindness, infectious smile, and incredible sense of humor. She found joy in her gardens and had a deep love for life and family. She and Lorne shared a passion for traveling, curling, square dancing, line dancing, dressing up, and entertaining. They enjoyed winters in Orlando, Florida, with friends and were deeply involved in Columbus United Church.

Her strength and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Wynfields Retirement Residence, Reverend Richard Parker, and her friends at Columbus United Church.

Memorial donations to Columbus United Church would be appreciated.

Visitation will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario, L1J 2L4, on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. A reception will take place in the lower level of the funeral home after the service.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Oshawa Funeral Home.
