Maureen Goodwin passed away peacefully at her home on June 13, 2025 with family by her side.

Longtime companion to Ed Goudge, and beloved wife to the late Alan Paul Goodwin. Loving mother to Dawn Carson (Bill) and Dean Goodwin (Laurie), and devoted Nan to her grandchildren, Rhianna, Jamie (Sherry), Daniel (Wendy), Corey (Jesse), Jade & Lily (Matthew). Great Nan to Brooke, Peyton, Kaydance, Aria, Bella, Marla & Oscar.

Maureen touched many lives over the years with her quick wit and caring ways. Aside from her deep devotion to family, her life career was teaching and hairdressing, and she continued to style people’s hair right into her senior years. Many of the staff at the Long Term Care home where she resided commented that Maureen was braiding their hair up until the last weeks of her life. Maureen loved to sing and dance, and her upbeat nature carried her through many difficult times. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her well.

We want to thank the staff at AgeCare Samac, McLaughlin Bay unit, for their wonderful care of Maureen in recent years. They loved her like family and she loved them back.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Newcastle Fellowship Baptist Church Located at 200 King Avenue East, Newcastle, from 10-11am followed by a service at 11:30am with refreshments to follow.
