The family of Mavis Grainger sadly announces her passing at the Tillsonburg Memorial Hospital in her 100th year.
Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Gordon Grainger, daughter Barb Hopkins and granddaughter Deborah Lyn Hopkins.
Survived by her daughter Sharon D. Grainger (Tillsonburg), granddaughter Kristen Hopkins (Elliot Lake), Angila and Mike Donais (Tillsonburg), son-in-law Don Hopkins (Diana) (Elliot Lake), Richard and Michelle Whatley and many nieces and nephews.
Mavis was born in Abertridwr, South Wales on July 11, 1926. She immigrated to Canada with her parents and older sister. She had her third birthday in Ontario. She lived a wonderful life full of joy, laughter and unforgettable memories.
The family would like to thank the Livingston Center, Tillsonburg, Care Partners (Team 6 and PSW Marion), Dr. Lamb and his house calls, Tillsonburg Memorial Hospital (2nd Floor South and 2nd Floor North – “End of Life Care”) for the wonderful compassionate care she received. Mavis loved talking to all of you and the Doctors who looked after her.
Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
