GUINDON, Nettie Pearl Guindon

Passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Woodlands of Sunset in her 97th year.

Nettie, known simply as “Ma” to family, friends, neighbours, and just about everyone who knew her, is reunited with Pops, her beloved husband Gerard, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage. Loving mother to Joanne Beauchamp, David (Sharon), Albert (Kim Slugoski), and Jerry (Teresa). Cherished Grandmother of 12 and Great-Grandma to many. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Cindy Kitchingman, as well as her brothers Reggie and Johnny Herbert and her sister Millie Schooley.

Nettie Pearl Guindon was a social butterfly who never missed an opportunity to chat, tease, or share her opinion. Known for her spunky personality, sharp wit, and strong opinions, she brought laughter wherever she went. She loved playing bingo, buying lottery tickets, scratch tickets, and pull tabs, always hoping the next one would be the winner. Her grandchildren will fondly remember being told they were her favourite and the way she would quietly slip a folded five-dollar bill into their hand with a wink and a reminder not to tell anyone. It was one of the many ways she made every person feel special, loved, and important.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Woodlands of Sunset for the kindness, compassion, and care they provided to Nettie over the years. Their support meant a great deal to both her and her family.

Nettie’s family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Friday, June 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Armstrong Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brian Lofthouse as celebrant. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Wainfleet. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
