HALL, Douglas Hall
August 4, 1954 - May 31, 2026
He passed away peacefully at Hospice Quinte on May 31, 2026. Doug succumbed to glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer. He fought a courageous fight, never once complained and believed he could beat it, until he couldn’t. Doug was 71 years old. He was born in Sudbury Ontario on August 4th, 1954 and is predeceased by his parents Ivan Lorraine Hall and Willa McNaughton. Doug was a devoted husband to his wife Nancy (Davis). He lived for family above everything but would do anything for a friend.
Doug loved and was immensely proud of his blended family of children he shared with Nancy, they are Del MacGregor (Kerry) Brighton, Shawn MacGregor (Julie) Brooklin, Travis MacGregor (Erin) Trenton, and Richard Hall (Ann) Gloucester. He doted on his grandchildren, Jessica, Alivia, Camryn, Chelsea, Autumn, Noah, Charlotte and Bellamy.
Douglas Hall was a proud veteran of the RCAF for 35 years. He was a Military Flight Engineer. He enjoyed volunteering in the airpark at the National Airforce Museum of Canada, fishing and golfing. He was proud to be a member of the Brighton Legion. He relished the many snowbird winters spent in Florida and the special bonds of friendship he formed there.
Doug and Nancy were blessed to have a circle of family and friends that never quit. They were there for the good times, and stayed for the hard times. It would be difficult to know what lifeβs last days would have been like without them.Β Doug is survived by brother in law Larry Davis (Terri) and sister in law Marie Davis (Denny). He was predeceased by brothers in law, Denny, Doug and Jimmy Davis.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care received from long time family doctor, Dr Koshela Ranjith, his palliative doctor, Dr Erin Gow, staff at TMH ER, and 2C and Hospice Quinte. The loving care and comfort Doug received in his final days was more than we could have hoped for.Β We would be remiss not to mention the care of in home help, PSWs, nurses and others attending in the home, and coordinator Carly of OHAH. Thank you to all.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.Β If desired, a memorial donation to Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation or Hospice Quinte would be appreciated by the family in Dougβs memory.
Doug’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
