Heather Marguerite Hansen, age 78, passed away suddenly on May 9, 2025. Heather was
born on March 11, 1947 in Toronto, Ontario to her late parents William and Florence
Hansen. She graduated from Seneca College in 1996 and from the University of Toronto in
1978. The majority of her working days were spent as a Legal Assistant for the Crown
Attorneyโs OPice in Toronto.Heather had two children, two grandchildren, five siblings, many nieces and nephews, as
well as great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Stephen and will be
lovingly remembered by her surviving daughter Cheryl. Heather will be immensely missed
by her two grandchildren, Marie (Ryan) and Colin, who she loved very much. Heather is also
survived by her five siblings Ruth, Christine, David (Vikki), Doug (Anni), Dennis (Joan).
Growing up, Heather was the oldest of all her siblings. She developed her lifelong love of
reading at a young age by going to the library with her mother. Heather spent lots of time
with her grandchildren. They could be found at the library, swimming, playing scrabble, or
eating ice cream. In her retirement years, Heather could be found reading a book, drinking
Tetley tea and snacking on Dadโs Oatmeal cookies.

Heather was known for her steadfast will, her love for history and reading, and always
thinking about others. She will be deeply missed by all her family members.
A private service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and a Celebration of Heatherโs life
will take place on June 7th from 2pm-5pm. Please contact the family for further details
