HASKELL, Mona Doreen Haskell

ON was Promoted to Glory on Wednesday January 21, 2026, at Saint Luke’s Place, her residence for the past year. Mona was born on June 14, 1935, in Toronto, ON to George and Hilda Haskell.
A graduate of Galt Business School, Mona worked most of her career in administration at the Galt Malleable Iron. When Malleable Iron closed its doors, she moved on to a second career in Human Resources at Novocol, where she retired from in 2000.

Mona never married, but shared a longtime friendship with June Jones, where they enjoyed many years together being snowbirds with a coach in Clearwater, Florida. Mona had a passion for Salvation Army music, where she was a member, accompanist and finally Songster Leader at Cambridge Citadel. Through this role, she had a strong influence on many members of the corps and will be fondly remembered.

In her youth Mona started up the Galtones, a contemporary music group, where they traveled and performed in many churches for a number of years. An accomplished pianist, Mona had the opportunity to tour with Joy Webb and The Joystrings for several weeks on tour in England in the 1960’s.

Survived by the Haskell and Cadiou families, Mona will also be missed by her many friends at Cambridge Citadel Salvation Army. Thank you to the staff of Saint Luke’s Place, close friend Mary Lynn Noseworthy, Courtney and staff of Nurse Next Door and all those that contributed to Mona’s care in her final year of decline. 5 Tillsley Dr, Kitchener, ON

Family will be receiving guests at The Salvation Army Kitchener Community Church, 75 Tillsley Dr., Kitchener, on Saturday January 31, 2026, from 11:30a.m., until the time of the Funeral Service to be held at 1p.m.

As an expression of sympathy, donations made to Salvation Army Cambridge Citadel would be greatly appreciated by the family.
