MacDonald, Helen Gertrude (July 26, 1922 – September 9, 2025)

Our beloved and amazing mother, Helen Gertude MacDonald, passed away at Stirling Heights Longterm Care in Cambridge, Ontario on September 9, 2026, at the age of 104 with her family at her side.  She was predeceased by her husbands Joseph Woods (1963) and Neil MacDonald (1998).  Dearly loved mother of Maureen and her husband LaVerne Hinan of Guelph, James (Jim) Woods of Guelph, Joanne Woods of Temple Texas, and her dear granddaughter Tamara Kathleen Hinan of Berlin, Germany.  She was also predeceased by her parents Arthur and Gertha Taylor, sister Audrey Fowler and her husband Bill, and brother Bob and his wife Ruth.  She is survived by several nephews and her niece.  Helen was a member of Wesley United Church and a member of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years.  She was also a longtime member of Probus (Riverside).  Cremation has taken place.  At Helen’s request a private family service will be held with interment at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.  As expressions of sympathy donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
