HILL, Yvette Hill

Passed away peacefully on the morning March 20th, 2026 at Midland Gardens Care Community in Scarborough, Ontario, at the age of 91.

Born in Belle River, Ontario on January 10th, 1935, Yvette lived much of her life in North York, Ontario, raising 6 children with her late husband, George Hill, then retired to the Grey County area in 1991. Yvette was a nurturing spirit whose kindness touched everyone she met. She will be best remembered for her passion for gardening, playing music on her grand piano, and volunteering for the Literacy Program in Owen Sound, Ontario.

Yvette Hill was a very successful Piano Teacher for 24 years. She was admired by her many students. She had a bright and inquiring mind, always wanting to learn more and asking “why”? She had a lovely garden and had quite the green thumb. She was an adept seamstress and knitter. She also sewed quilts.

Yvette is survived by Brenda Collins (Daniel, Deceased) of Scarborough, ON, Stephen Hill (Janet Jackson), of Bobcaygeon, ON, Jeanette Iles (Scott Irvin), of Frankford, ON, David Hill, of Kemble, ON. Michael Hill (Jan Asava-Aree), of Mount Pisgah, NB, Andrea Hill (Peter Nowak), of Newcastle, ON. Proud Grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister, Suzanne Chevalier of Windsor, ON, and her brother-in-law, Bernard Masse (Louise, Deceased) of Belle River, ON. There are also many Nieces and Nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held on the weekend of June 13 to 14, 2026 at Caledonia Ontario. If any family or friends wish to attend, please contact Brenda at bc4560157@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a Charity of your choice.
