HOOPER, Pastor Wayne Nelson “Bud” Hooper

Passed away peacefully with his loving wife Diane by his side at Glen Hill Terrace, Whitby, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the age of 82.

Loved and deeply missed by his wife of just shy of 58 years, Diane (nee West). Loving father of Tanya Willmott (Kane) and Craig Hooper (Janine). Doting grandfather of Brayden and Elyssa Willmott and Kohen, Finn and Wren Hooper. Also missed by his sister Heather Walton (Doug) and brother-in-law Tom Harrison (Barb). Survived by six nieces and one nephew. Predeceased by his parents, Earl and Ruby Hooper, and his sister, Earline Harrison.

Bud was a devoted Baptist pastor for over 50 years, dedicating his life to his faith, his ministry and serving others. He also served as Assistant Director of Evangelism and Church Growth for CBOQ (Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec) and for three years as President of the Canadian Baptist Federation.

Bud had a deep and unwavering faith and a genuine love for people. He enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, but his greatest love was for his Lord and his family. His faith guided the way he lived his life, and his family was a source of tremendous pride and joy.

A Funeral Service will be held at Uxbridge Baptist Church, 231 Brock Street West, Uxbridge, on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Visitation will commence at 10:30 AM. Reception to follow the ceremony. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
