HRAYNYK, Wendy Hraynyk

Passed away peacefully on July 12, 2026, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, following many years of health challenges.

Beloved wife of Bill Hraynyk and the late Mike Goldsmith, Wendy was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and David. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Nick, her extended family and many dear friends.

A special thank you is extended to her wonderful neighbours and cherished friends, Arlene and Merv, whose companionship, support, shared meals, and many enjoyable bingo outings brought Wendy great comfort and happiness throughout the years.

Born and raised in Oshawa, Wendy spent her entire life in the community she loved. She worked for many years at Alger Press, General Printers, and Lovell Drugs, where she formed lasting friendships and touched the lives of many.

Wendy Hraynyk had a true zest for life. She and Bill enjoyed travelling the world together, creating wonderful friendships and memories on trips to Mexico, the Grand Canyon, and many other beautiful destinations.

A passionate animal lover, Wendy volunteered with the Durham Humane Society and had a special place in her heart for dogs and all animals. She was also an enthusiastic reader who believed deeply in the power of books and literacy. Wendy often spent time reading to others and helping those who struggled with reading, generously sharing her love of learning and stories.

In keeping with Wendy’s wishes, no formal service will be held .

Memorial donations in Wendy’s memory may be made to the Humane Society of Durham Region or to Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre.
