HUBERT, Frederick Stanley Hubert

After a long illness, Frederick Stanley Hubert, of Bright’s Grove, in his 82nd year, passed away peacefully at Marshall Gowland Manor, in Sarnia, ON, with his family at his side. Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mia (Kelders) Hubert and their children and spouses; Sarah and Arturo Meza, Camlachie, Jessica Hubert and Tony Tamburro, Bradford, Nic and Lizz Hubert, Camlachie, and Freddy and Amanda Hubert, Amherstview. Beloved Opa of Adriana, Isabel and Edgar Meza; Theo, William, Elliot and Miles Hubert; and Wyatt and Mason Hubert. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law Roxanne Hubert, Wallaceburg and many nieces and nephews. Fred will be greatly missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews in the Kelders family. Pre-deceased by his parents Hazel and Fred Hubert Sr., grandson, Sebastian Hubert, brothers Ron Hubert and Rich Hubert, Wallaceburg and sister-in-law Lynda Hubert. Fred was a very proud member of the Ontario Provincial Police, serving in Sarnia, the Pinery and Petrolia detachments. He was the longest serving member of the Pinery detachment. He retired from the OPP in June 1996, after 30 years of service. His retirement was filled with many happy years in the Bright’s Grove community, supporting his children and grandchildren in their various activities. The Hubert family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Marshall Gowland Manor for their loving care and kindness toward Fred while he was a resident. Visitation will take place at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, Monday, April 13, from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Funeral service will take place at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to two charities important to Fred, The Inn of the Good Shepherd, Sarnia and Huron House Boys Home, Bright’s Grove.
