ARNOTT , Irene  Arnottt
July 14, 1923 - January 4, 2024
Passed away at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga after a brief illness.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jan (Kloosterhuis); her daughter-in-law, Mary-Jeanne (Donkin) and her stepchildren, Carolyn (Frank Morphy) and Stewart (Marcio França); as well as her grandchildren, Andrew Kloosterhuis (Pookie), Michael Donkin (Zak Horkoff), Sean Morphy (Annie) and Daniel Morphy (Laura Chambers); and her dear great-grandchildren, Ella, Keeghan, Felix, George and Tessa.
Irene was predeceased by her first husband, Pete; her second husband, Eric; her son, Peter and her grandson, Al Donkin. Irene lived what she herself described as a very full life for just over a century. Born in Saskatoon, she was the youngest daughter in a farming family of ten.
She served as a Navy Wren during WWII, stationed in Quebec, and then pursued a long career as a medical secretary after marrying and moving to Ontario.
Irene found a second life partner in Eric who shared her love of golf, curling, cross-country skiing and travel, which they actively pursued for the majority of their 36 years together.
A service honouring Irene’s life will be held in April of this year with a Date and further details to be posted later on the at Turner & Porter website.
The family asks that memorial donations can be made to Our Place Peel, a non-profit organization that helps homeless youth.
