JACKMAN, Kathleen Mary Jackman
April 16, 1928 - April 15, 2026She was born April 16, 1928, in Kapuskasing, Ontario, passed away peacefully on April 15 at the age of 97, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, care, and devotion to her family.
Kathleen Mary Jackman was the beloved daughter of Annie Vance and Jack Fanning. Following the passing of her father at a young age, she moved to Stirling, Ontario, at the age of 16. Her strength and determination guided her to pursue a career in nursing, and she graduated from The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto on June 2, 1949.
Later that same year, on September 17, 1949, Kathleen married the love of her life, Robert A. Jackman, at the age of 21. Together, they built a loving family and shared many cherished years.
Kathleen was a devoted mother to David (Lee) and Brenda (Donald). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Andrew (Joy) and Laura (Joe), and a treasured great-grandmother to Liam and Evan Jackman.
She was predeceased by her parents, Annie and Jack Fanning, as well as her brother, Robert Fanning.
Kathleen will be remembered for her kind, giving, and caring nature. She was outgoing and social, always ready to support those around her, and she had a wonderful sense of humour that brought joy to those in her company. She had a nurturing spirit, along with a creative and artistic side, and was known for her intelligence and love of learning. She also enjoyed staying active and had a deep affection for animalsβespecially cats.
Her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Queens Estate Retirement Residence for the continuous care they provided to Kathleen. A special thank you is also extended to her caregiver, Charita, for her compassion and exceptional support.
