James Walter “Jimmy” Spencer passed away suddenly on September 22, 2026, while golfing with family at Sauble Beach Golf Club. He was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, on September 26, 1950.
Jim is remembered by his wife of 57 years, Susan; children Tim, Steven, and Michelle and their families; six grandchildren; siblings Harold, Donna, and Janet; nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Norm and Ruth Spencer, his brother Dave, and infant twin granddaughters Taylor and Julianna.
Jim worked in the automotive-parts industry and later volunteered in his community. He enjoyed cars, music, family celebrations, camping, canoeing, road trips, and helping relatives and friends with vehicle problems.
Visitation will take place at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel in Guelph on October 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and October 17 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service begins October 17 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception.
Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Arthritis Society.
