Jean passed away peacefully at the family home in Port Perry Sunday, August 10, 2025 in her 83rd year. Devoted wife of the late Edgar Johnson and loving mother of Wendy Reville (Brock), Patty McClelland (Dan) and the late James Robert Johnson. Cherished grandmother to Jade Reville, Jordan Reville (Jennifer), Jasmin Vale (Michael). Adoring great-grandmother to Aaron, Brody and Cooper.

Born in Priceville, New Brunswick to parents Garnet and Elizabeth Long, Jean is survived by brother Jimmy, predeceased by sister Katherine, brothers Donald, Raymond and Gary. Special friend of the late Alton Webb and his family. She will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends.

From humble beginnings, Jean was sent to Fredericton at 12 years old to find work. This is where she eventually married and had her 2 daughters, until General Motors brought the family to settle in Newcastle, Ontario. A nurturing soul she dedicated her life to caring for children. Her lap was always open (even when her grandbabies got too big). She was a baby whisperer and had a wealth of knowledge that her family depended on. Devoted grandmother & great-grandmother, mother, and friend, ‘Gram’ was the heart of the family — warm, strong, and always ready with a plate of something delicious from her kitchen. The table was promptly cleared for multiple hands of bid euchre before anyone was the wiser. A woman of many talents she enjoyed sewing and knitting cherished items for her family (and their dolls!). She will be missed deeply and remembered always for her devotion, discipline, and boundless love.
