JOHNSTON, Blair Johnston
June 5, 1931 - June 4, 2025
Surrounded by his family, Blair Johnston passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, a couple of hours before his 94th Birthday at Cobourg Extendicare where he lived for the past two and half years as he navigated his journey with Parkinson’s disease with the unwavering support of the nurses and PSW’s for whom we will be forever grateful.
He was predeceased by his wife Arlene Johnston, who he missed dearly, his parents and four siblings. Blair is lovingly remembered by his children Jane, Nancy, Pamela, Arlene’s sons James (Jasmine) and Wesley (Aliea), his grandchildren Mason (Marisa), Brendan (Marina), Devin (Catherine), Rebecca, Vanessa and Arlene’s grandson Beau and great grandchildren Mara, Sofia Ray and Andrej, son-in-laws Jim and Kevin, his sister Trudy and best friend Mike.
Blair was a pound uncle to many nieces and nephews and will be fondly remembered by many friends and past students. Blair will be remembered for his dedication to teaching, passion for building and a love for the Miramichi, where he grew up, built lifelong friendships with friends and family even after he moved to Ontario, where he met his then wife Mary and raised their three daughters. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a man who touched so any people’s lives in a unique way.
