JOHNSTON, Kathy Margaret (Felder) Johnston

April 19, 1941 - February 11, 2026

It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Kathy on February 11 2026. Lovingly remembered by daughter Tammy and son Tim, son-in-law Todd, grandchildren Dustin(Maggie), Duncan(Paige), Angeliou, Lauren(Alex), Joe(Lindsay)and great granddaughters Hannah and Lily. Predeceased by her Mom and Dad, John and Katie Felder, daughter Penny, son-in-law Darwin, and her loving husband Ted. Fondly remembered by her sisters Marilyn Ford, Bonnie(Ken) Okolisan, and Wendy(Tom) Murray, and brother Randy Felder, along with several nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.

Kathy started working at Lemon’s Dry Goods Store in West Lorne around 1970 . After the store was sold, she went to work for Rosalie Krebz, at Krebz’s Jewelry in West Lorne, She then worked at West Elgin High School in the cafeteria, then Foodland in West Lorne. She then switched gears and worked for Dr John Shields, Chiropractor, then Dr Jody Anderson Chiropractor. Both Ted and Kathy were active members in the Optimist Club, and the West Lorne United Church.

When she finally retired, they were both able to slow down the pace and enjoy unhurried visits together with family and friends.

The years 2019 and 2020 were hard times for Kathy, as Ted’s health started to decline and he passed away on November 28, 2020. In July of 2021 Kathy moved to PEI(a plan that her and Ted had started prior to his death) to be nearer to Tammy and Todd. She shared many special moments in PEI—evenings with Tammy, morning coffee with Todd, weekend outings, and watching her beloved horses Dusty Lane Levi and Lyons Hungry Apple, whom she nicknamed Apple Pie.

Kathy deeply missed her family and home in ON, and was in the process of trying to move back there.

Visitation will be held at Arn Funeral Home, Rodney, ON on Wednesday March 4, 2026 2-4pm, and 7-9pm. Funeral will be at 1pm on THURSDAY, March 5, 2026 at Arn Funeral Home, Rodney, ON.
