In hospital on Monday August 17,2026 at the age of 82 years.
Beloved partner of Elayne Taylor (née Joyce). Brother of Don Laporte (deceased) (Sherry), Carol Vahey (Dan deceased), Lynda Sinclair, Peggy Laporte, June Patry (deceased) (Mike), and Julie Larose (Dave). Beloved Uncle Dirtbag of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Wilfred Laporte Sr., and Mina Laporte (née Hurd),
Fred was an avid sports fan .He played football, baseball , co-ed lobball , broom ball, darts and pool . He continued to follow all these interests throughout his life if only through the media.. He was a proud member of the Ottawa Nepean Canadians Sports Club in support of minor sports .He enjoyed feeding the critters from our deck, especially the chippers, bunnies, squirrels and above all “Donald” and “Daisy” mallard ducks who would stop by for a bite to eat and a nap every once in while. He had a good sense of humour and will be sorely missed.
