KAMSTRA, Cornelia Maria Kamstra

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa Hospital on February 9, 2026. Beloved wife to Jim for 62 years who predeceased her by nine years.

Corry was the dear mother of James, Harry and Ted; and Oma (grandmother) to Jessica, Erik, Nathan and Liam. She was born in Franeker, Friesland, Netherlands on February 2, 1933 to Jan and Cecilia Huitenga, fifth in line of eight siblings: Agatha, Suus, Gina, Meindert, Piet, Ria and Theo.

Growing up under German occupation in the Netherlands during WWII, she emigrated to Canada in 1955. Here she met Jim, a Dutchman, got married and started a family in the outskirts of Oshawa. Jim started the Kamstra Landscaping and garden centre business, where Corry played an integral administrative role from the beginning until their retirement in 2015.

Corry maintained strong family bonds in Canada and across the ocean, having hosted many family gatherings along with Jim. She was an avid traveller having adventures on five continents by camper, bus, ship and private plane.

Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 20, 2026 followed by funeral service at 2:00 pm.
