KERAMIDOPOULOS, Phyllis Keramidopoulos
March 4, 1925 - June 21, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Phyllis Keramidopoulos. She was a kind and loving person who passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026 at the remarkable age of 101.
Phyllis Keramidopoulos was born on March 4, 1925 in Kastoria, Macedonia, Greece. She emigrated to Toronto, Canada with her immediate family in 1949. Shortly thereafter, she was joined by her husband Efstathios, whom she met in Greece and married in Toronto. They were blessed with two daughters, Mary and Sue.
She lived a long and happy life grounded in her Greek traditions. She had a strong faith in the Greek Orthodox religion, and was a member of the St. George’s Greek Orthodox choir. She loved to read and listen to Greek music. She kept up to date with Greek news by subscribing to the Kastorian newspapers and ordering books to introduce the Greek language and culture to her two daughters. She was also involved in philanthropic activities to help needy people in Greece, particularly the St. Nektarios orphanage located in Chania, Crete. She enjoyed attending Greek functions and dances and was actively involved in the Toronto Kastorian Association. She worked as a furrier sewing fur coats, and regularly made coats for her daughters over the years.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Victor) and Sue, grandchildren Sofia (Mark) and Steven, great grandchildren Thalia and Peter (her pride and joy), her sister Carol (Kosta) and brother James (Alice).
She was predeceased by her husband Efstathios, parents Theodore and Naomi Frangos, her brothers Konstantinos and Leonidas Frangos, and her sisters Penelope Frangos and Helen Tsakouridis.
To our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, you will be sadly missed, fondly remembered and eternally loved. May you rest in peace.
