KERSTEN, John Hendrik Aly Kersten

Peacefully at Grace Villa Nursing Home on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in the company of his wife, John was called home to the Lord at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Susan (nee McNeil) for 41 years. John was the only child of Stoffer and Aaltje Kersten. He was born and raised in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada where he met and married Susan, and worked as an accountant in the agricultural industry for many years. He is lovingly remembered by Susan’s family: Elizabeth and Doug Skinner, Patricia and Reg Porter, Donald and Bonnie MacNeil, Michael and Carolee McNeil including many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to all the caregivers at Grace Villa for looking after John and bringing comfort to Susan.

Friends may visit on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. at STREETLIGHT CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 82 Ferguson Ave. N., Hamilton, Rev. Winston Bosch officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Hamilton Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
