Passed away at Carpenter Hospice on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of over 40 years to Clifford Ferris, who predeceased her. She was a loving mother to her only son Mark Ferris and daughter-in-law Tammy Moorse, and a loving grandmother to her granddaughter Corine Ferris.
She was a beloved sister to Douglas (Shirley) Kilpatrick, Kenneth (Suzanne) Kilpatrick, and Donald (Janet) Kilpatrick. She was predeceased by her parents Carmen and Jeanette Kilpatrick.
Barbara was a creative and joyful soul. She and her spouse Cliff enjoyed many retirement years in Guelph, after living and working as a teacher in Deep River, Ontario. She enjoyed painting, music, singing in a seniors choir, and playing her piano at home. Barb loved the time she spent with her family and friends in Guelph. In recent years, she cherished the time she spent with her granddaughter Corine.
The family would like to particularly thank all the individuals who helped care for and support Barb in the last months of her life, including Sandra Ferris, Doug Kilpatrick, Paige, Kim, Tigist, and Jennifer. Special thanks also to the following organizations: Ontario Health at Home, Bayshore Home Health, CarePartners, and Carpenter Hospice.
Arrangements: Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
