Jean-Marie King

August 31, 2025 – August 15, 2025

Smiling person wearing sunglasses outdoors.

KING, Jean-Marie (nee Hrynuik) Peacefully, at ARCH, on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 65, with her sister and best friend by her side.

Loving wife of Terry King. Mother of James Mitchell King and Kelley Lynn King-Gagnon (Eric). Loving grandmother of Nicholas James.

Predeceased by her parents Mitchell and Dorothy Hrynuik and her brother Bobby Hrynuik. Devoted sister of Brenda Hrynuik. Aunt of Alaina deBruyne, Ben (Sarah) deBruyne and Adam (Kelsie) deBruyne. Jean will be deeply missed by her best friend Kristin Samuel-Stevens.

Jean-Marie enjoyed many fun times with her husband Terry, and friends who dropped by to marvel at her stunning flowers, fresh veggies, and a multitude of solar lights that lit up her life, and her smile. She would often comment that the lights were to help navigate the angels and all in the universe that passed by. Little did she know, she was all the envy. When people came to visit, she would proudly give you a tour. A labor of love was felt.

Most sacred to her was growing up at the camp surrounded by nature on Pine Island. There, many of her happiest moments were born. Precious memories were made and dreams were created. It was the best of times! She made me pinky swear not to disclose her secret spots.

Jean’s favorite sport was dancing on the dance floor for many hours in every club in the Soo, impressing everyone in the place. Her infectious moves drew a full floor.

Family and friends are invited to O’Sullivan Funeral Home on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 1:00pm–3:00pm. All are invited to join us to honor dear sweet Jean-Marie in her final farewell. She always loved a good party!

The family would like to thank the amazing doctors, Sault Area Hospital, and in particular ARCH who provided exceptional care in her final hours.

Memorial donations may be made in Jean-Marie’s name to ARCH. Payable by check or online at www.archhospice.ca/donate.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at O’Sullivan Funeral Home.
