KIZAS, Treasure-Anne Marie Kizas
July 15, 2026
She passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026 at the age of 82 while in care at Humber Meadows Long-Term Care Home. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Humber Meadows and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (K-Wing) for taking such good care of her during her time of need. Beloved wife to Spiro, for over 50 years; loving mother to Ashley (Tiniel), Andrew (David), and Byron (Sarah); loving sister to Rod (Lydia); loving aunt to Chadwich, Kody and Aline; and, cherished grandmother to Brooklyn, Katia, and her granddog Molly. Treasure was predeceased by her parents (William and Jacqueline) and her husband, Spiro.
Treasure-Anne Marie Kizas, born in London, England, and educated in Winnipeg, Manitoba, attended the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School before moving to London, England to study dance at the London College of Dance and Drama. Following her graduation she accepted a faculty position in Alexandria, Egypt at the Conservatoire de Musique where she met her soon-to-be husband Spiro Kizas. Treasure and Spiro served as faculty members at both the Conservatoire in Alexandria and the Shutz American School where they taught ballet and piano respectively to countless students. After moving to Canada, and raising three boys, Treasure continued her passion educating students by initially volunteering and then working as an education assistant in the North York and Toronto District School Boards. Her work was admired by all who knew her, and she received many accolades from staff, administration, and students during her career. It was also during her time in the education sector that Treasure joined a wonderful group of dedicated quilters β a group that she adored getting together with for over 30 years! Treasure also sang in the church choir for many years, along with her son Andrew, at the Church of the Ascension (Anglican) in Don Mills.
Treasureβs kindness, sense of humour, and love for her family, will forever remain in our hearts and in the hearts of those who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice, or to the Sunnybrook Foundation, in Treasureβs name, would be most welcomed by the family.
