LACH, Joe Lach
March 17, 1950 - May 3, 2026It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Joe Lach on May 3, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born in Germany in 1950 to a proud Polish family, Joe immigrated to Canada at the age of five with his parents, Peter & Julia and sister Barb, settling on a farm near Grand Bend, Ontario. From an early age, he learned the value of hard work, family, and perseverance β qualities that would define his life.
In the mid-1970s, Joe moved to Norfolk County to pursue his passion for farming as a tobacco grower. Over the years, he also ventured into real estate before focusing his efforts on building and operating the successful Fancy Pak potato farming operation, which he proudly ran until his retirement at the age of 70.
Beyond his work, Joe cherished time with family and friends. For the past 20 years, he and his wife Arlene enjoyed spending winters in Florida at Heritage Palms Golf and Country Club, where he loved golfing, welcoming family visits, and creating lasting friendships and memories.
Joe will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, strength, and deep devotion to his family. His passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Joe was the loving husband of Arlene (nee Theurer) for 28 wonderful years. Beloved father of Nicole Comella (Joseph) and Daxton Lach. Proud Papa to Mia and Roman Comella. He will be fondly remembered by his brother Richard Lach, niece Ashley Marston, nephew Morgan Marston, and many dear friends. Predeceased by his sister Barbara Marston (2007).
Family and friends will be received at Jason Smith Funeral Chapel 689 Norfolk St. N, Simcoe on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 2:00β4:00 p.m. and 6:00β8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish in Delhi. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Port Dover Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joeβs memory may be made to Norfolk Hospital Foundation, Haldimand-Norfolk Community Hospice or Juravinski Cancer Centre.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
